This video of a Lebanese TV host expertly shutting down a sexist guest is going viral

A male guest told her it was “beneath” him to be interviewed by a woman, and she responded in kind.

RIMA KARAKI, A JOURNALIST with the Lebanese TV station Al-Jadeed, is going viral this morning after a clip of her expertly shutting down a sexist guest surfaced online.

Muslim scholar Hani Al Saba’i was invited on Karaki’s show to discuss a recent wave of Christians joining ISIS – but instead, he began discussing historical precedent.

Karaki asked him to focus on the present day, and he immediately began to get aggressive:

Al Seba’i: Are you done? Shut up so I can talk.
Karaki: How can a respected sheik like yourself tell a TV host to shut up?
Al Seba’i: It’s beneath me to be interviewed by you. You are a woman who…

At this point, Karaki cuts the interview, saying: “Either there is mutual respect, or the conversation is over.”
